Founder and President

Carolyn Castleberry Hux, founder and President, has more than 30 years of experience in leadership development, trained as a servant leader with Campus Crusade for Christ and currently serving as a Master Certified Halftime Coach with The Halftime Institute. Carolyn works one-on-one with leaders to help them invest their second half of life where it matters most.

For nearly 30 years, Kelly has been reporting on major news events. He's also interviewed many popular newsmakers including; President Barack Obama (when he was Senator), First Lady Laura Bush, Muhammad Ali, John Travolta, Nick Jonas, Ludacris, O.J. Simpson, and more.

Kim’s clients include small business, professional practices, contractors and non-profit organizations. In 1999, Kim was named to Inside Business magazine's annual "Top 40 under 40" listing and in 2011 "Women in Business" achievement award in recognition of both her business and community volunteer accomplishments.

Reverend Marni J. Schneider

Vicar at St. Simon’s by-the-Sea Episcopal Church.
After attending Church Divinity School of the Pacific in Berkeley, CA, Marni was ordained to the priesthood in 1986 and spent the next 14 years working in parish ministry the Diocese of Los Angeles.  She was also known in the diocese as a speaker, retreat leader and producer of large diocesan events.

Alveta Ewell

Former News Anchor, WAVY-TV
Alveta is a rarity for the business in that she was a native in her market, spending the majority of her career in the Hampton Roads, Virginia area. Born in Norfolk, she is a graduate of Chesapeake's Great Bridge High School and received her Bachelor's Degree from Norfolk State University. 

Sharon Lista Sanborn

Daughter of Holocaust survivor
The daughter of Judy and Jerry Lista, an Auschwitz survivor during the Holocaust. Sharon’s son, Dylan writes, “Between 1940 and 1945, my grandfather was a prisoner in Nazi concentration camps in Poland and Germany. While he was in the camps he faced starvation, inhumane conditions, and constant persecution for being Jewish." 

Dr. Juan Montero

Founder and President of Montero Medical Missions
He is the founder of the Chesapeake Care Free Clinic, one of the most comprehensive free clinics in the nation. Dr. Montero’s vision for Montero Medical Missions, is that expatriate physicians will now have a ready vehicle for volunteerism to give back to their respective homelands and in so doing, create sustainable healthcare projects.

* Katherine Huske, President of Katherine Huske Marketing

Katherine originally launched her marketing agency in the travel and tourism industry in 2001. For eight years she worked for clients like Westin Hotels and Resorts, Hyatt Hotels, The Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs, Aspen Lodging Company, Tahoe Mountain Resorts and others. In 2008 she was recruited to work for Kay Arthur at Precept Ministries International and following that was recruited to work for The Pocket Testament League (an international evangelism ministry).

Recently Katherine has re-launched her marketing firm focusing exclusively on faith-based nonprofits. Her specialties include marketing audits, website analysis and redesign, strategy development and branding. For more information visit


* Mike Rau - Web Consultant

For almost 40 years, Mike has worked in just about every genre and field of mass media imaginable, including the music industry, public relations, politics, radio as both a DJ and a talk show host, TV news as both an assignment editor and Web editor, and print media as a columnist for a daily newspaper.

Mike served as Senior Internet Editor for WAVY-TV and currently provides consulting services in various aspects of mass communications. A highly experienced and respected journalist and writer, Rau also possesses advanced technical and creative skills in many areas associated with mass media, including website and Web content creation, audio engineering and video production.
